Hitachi UCX300 – 30-Ton Lattice Boom Truck Crane
The Hitachi UCX300 is a 30-ton class lattice boom truck crane designed for medium-scale lifting in construction, infrastructure, and industrial applications. Combining robust engineering with a highly mobile wheeled chassis, this machine delivers reliable performance for contractors requiring both lifting power and site-to-site mobility.
Power and Powertrain. At the heart of the UCX300 is an Isuzu AA-6BG1T diesel engine, a 6-cylinder, turbocharged and intercooled unit that produces 110 kW (150 PS) at 2,100 rpm. The engine meets Stage/Tier 2 emission standards and is paired with a 4×4 drive system that engages all wheels via a hydraulic motor. A two-stage hydraulic remote-control transmission with power shift capabilities provides a top travel speed of 18 km/h, making job site relocation efficient and straightforward.
Lifting Performance. The UCX300 delivers a maximum rated capacity of 30,000 kg at a 3.0-meter load radius. Its lattice boom extends to a maximum length of 24 meters, with a basic boom length of 9 meters, and is field-configurable with optional 3-meter or 6-meter extensions. The winch system offers a line pull capacity of up to 107.0 kN and a line speed of 57 meters per minute under load, while the boom can be elevated from a 40° to a 60° angle in just 13 seconds for rapid repositioning. A 250-liter hydraulic reservoir supports continuous, uninterrupted operation.
Mobility and Maneuverability. The crane is built on a wheeled chassis with a turning radius of 9.9 meters, providing good maneuverability in confined spaces. It can negotiate slopes up to 16.7 degrees and rides on 11.00-20, 18 PR tires, which offer durability and traction across varied job site conditions. A 360-liter fuel tank supports extended working periods without frequent refueling stops.
Safety and Operator Comfort. The UCX300 is equipped with a Load Moment Limiter (LML) that automatically monitors lifting operations and prevents overloading by keeping the crane within safe limits. The operator’s cabin is fully insulated and air-conditioned, featuring ergonomic controls designed to reduce fatigue during extended work shifts.
Applications. From urban construction sites to industrial facilities, the UCX300 is purpose-built for contractors who require a versatile, roadable crane that combines substantial lifting capacity with the agility to move quickly between jobs.
